So you are browsing through your favorite website and found a site that uses a font that you love and want that font for you too, must be as quickly as possible! So how do we go about finding out what that font is called?
One easy option is to simply email the webmaster and ask for the name of the font and where to get it.
This can take some time and not all webmasters will reply. So, I have decided to share this free online tool to speed up the identification process.
What The Font
The tool is developed by one of the largest font providers myfonts.com, WhatTheFont is one of the best spot for identifying your fonts. Simply upload an image file (maximum file size 2mb for best result) of the font that you want to identify and upload it to their servers or specify an image URL on the WTF interface, and the system will show you multiple font results. If unable to find it, it will prompt you to go to their where you can post the image and wait for feedback from font experts as to what that font may be called. I’ve used both systems and this usually solved most of my font questions.
What The Font
You can even identify a font from your mobile using WhatTheFont Mobile Apps. Just take a snap of the photo from your mobile phone and WhatTheFont Mobile will identify that font in seconds. WhatTheFont Mobile is available from the Android Market and iPhone App Store you can download it from here.
